Horn of Africa Drought and Food Crisis

More than 15 million people in Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya are facing a serious food and water emergency.

The three countries, located near the eastern most tip of the African continent known as the Horn of Africa, have been gripped by severe drought for months.

The lack of rain last year, following on from one of the strongest El Niño events ever recorded the year before, has wiped out crops, killed livestock and dried up water supplies. Families are struggling to recover.

This crisis could be devastating in coming months if we don’t respond now.

Oxfam is already on the ground. We’re trucking in water to communities in Ethiopia and preparing to respond as more needs are identified across the region. We want to make sure the most affected families are reached as quickly as possible.

You can help these families with an urgent donation to our International Crisis Fund so we can respond in the Horn of Africa and other regions around the world facing humanitarian crises.
