Thank you for your generous support of Oxfam Australia

We are planning on adjusting our payment schedule from monthly to four-weekly in response to the rising frequency in global crises. This is an important change we’re making to ensure we can continue supporting people and their communities.

What does this mean for you?

This change will mean that over the course of a year you will be making one extra donation, i.e. 13 donations rather than the current 12 donations annually.

At your earliest convenience, please let us know whether you’d like to proceed with this change or remain on your current monthly payment cycle. If we do not hear from you, your regular donation will not be changed.

FAQ

Why Oxfam?

With over 70 years of experience, Oxfam has been working with local partners and communities to provide immediate and long-term solutions that help people lift themselves out of poverty. From 2022-2023, Oxfam reached 15.5 million people across 90 countries around the world, all made possible with the support of people like you.

Oxfam’s experience means we ensure communities are actively involved in the support we provide. We ensure communities survive today with safe, clean water, cash and food and prepare for tomorrow by getting water systems working again.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. Regular donors will receive a consolidated tax receipt at the end of the Australian financial year (July). One off donations will receive their tax receipt via email immediately after their donation. For more information, head to our tax deductible donations page.

Why are you taking donations every four weeks and not every month?

We want to take donations every four weeks and not every month in response to the rising frequency and severity in global crises. This is an important change we’re making to ensure we can continue to support people and their communities.

Additionally, 90% of the Australian population are paid on Wednesday or Thursday. By making this adjustment, supporting Oxfam should be easier and better aligned with your own personal finances.

When will my donation be debited?

The first payment of the new cycle will occur on 1 March 2024. Subsequent debits will then take place every four weeks.

If you let us know you would not like to go ahead with this change, the debits will continue to take place once a month, on the 10th of each month (or next business day).
