The armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has forced thousands of people to flee for their lives.
Louise and her family escaped conflict only to face a new danger — deadly, dirty water. Cut off from help, Louise lost her husband and three of children to disease in just one week. She now resides in the Buporo refugee camp.
Right now, our Oxfam water engineers are ready to install water tanks, toilets and showers in camps just like Louise’s. We’ll also teach families the life-saving importance of hygiene during conflict.
Access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation is vital. It can save lives, keep families safe and give kids a chance for a happy, healthy future.
Your donation can help us to install water tanks, toilets and showers that will last, even if the ceasefire doesn’t.
Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. Your donation will be used in support of Oxfam’s efforts around the world. These are a few of the many ways we work with poor communities improve their lives.
