The Island President

We’re very excited to announce our support of the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival (HRAFF) again this year.

In 2012, we’re teaming up with HRAFF to bring you a screening of The Island President, documenting the important work of former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, in the lead-up to the Copenhagen climate summit.

This powerful film follows Nasheed as he tries to persuade the world to commit to a carbon pollution target that guarantees the survival of his island nation. Paced by a stirring Radiohead score, it’s David meets Goliath in this incredible documentary about a small nation’s struggle against climate change.

Where: Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square, Melbourne
When: 6:30pm, Sunday 27 May

Canberra: 7pm, Monday 28 May
Adelaide: 7pm, Friday 1 June
