After more than 2 decades Oxfam’s school program has closed. Our commitment to tackling poverty and empowering communities continues. The resources on these pages will no longer be updated.
– September 2019.
Tackling poverty and inequality is a complex job. How does an organisation like Oxfam approach such a huge and important task?
Through our six goals to change the world!
Our goals are based on human rights principles, and are the focus areas that guide our work here in Australia and overseas. We’ve committed to working towards these goals until 2019, to create a just world, without poverty.
Our goals are:
- Goal 1: The right to be heard
- Goal 2: Gender justice
- Goal 3: Saving lives, now and in the future
- Goal 4: Sustainable food
- Goal 5: Fair sharing of natural resources
- Goal 6: Finance for development
We’ve produced a series of free education resources for use in Australian schools, to help students understand more about our work and unpack these important human rights principles.
Together with Melbourne-based illustrator Steph Hughes, we’ve produced a series of posters illustrating each of the six goals.
These beautiful posters will brighten up your classroom and remind students of the human rights principles that guide Oxfam’s work around the world. You can also use them as a launch pad for a student-led enquiry into the principles.
Place your order today to receive your free six-pack of full colour A3 posters.
Please note: we will pop your order in the post within a fortnight of receiving your request.
